World Water Day, 2012 - Almost There!

The TPRF World Water Day campaign to raise $25,000 in matching funds to provide a reliable source of clean water for over 225,000 people is off to a great start. Because of the generosity of our donors, we’re more than half way there, but we still need your help to reach our goal.
As of Tuesday night, we were about 60% of goal. With your continued help, we can still reach $25,000 by World Water Day on March 22 or the few days following.
This is TPRF’s second adventure with the dynamic new organization, The Adventure Project (TAP). Read about last year’s success in a personal blog post by TAP’s co-founder, Becky Shaw.
Please visit our site to learn more and DONATE HERE by selecting the World Water Day- 2012 option and help TPRF continue addressing the fundamental human needs of food, water, and peace.
Here’s Why:
1/3 of all wells built in the last 20 years are now broken. Often there are no tools, spare parts, or mechanics to fix them.
Solution:
Train water well mechanics and provide spare parts and tools to maintain these wells.
Facts & Figures:
  • Every $550 raised provides training to one mechanic and provides them with tools, spare parts, and a one year stipend to help launch their business.
  • One mechanic services 50 wells providing water for 5,000 people
  • $10 provides clean water to 91 people
