Famine in Somalia Reaches Tipping Point

A disaster of unprecedented proportions has been brewing in East Africa almost completely under the radar of western media. The region is facing the worst drought in 60 years and what looks to be the worst famine crisis in two decades. 11 million Somalians are exposed to hunger.
With disasters that come on slowly the main challenge for organizations delivering relief on the ground is raising money fast enough. The numbers coming in from Somalia are terrifying with 29,000 children under the age of 5 dead in the past 90 days and an additional 640,000 acutely malnourished according to the Associated Press. Causes is working with 5 organizations who are on the ground and in desperate need of supplies.
Help make a difference:
Save the Children – East Africa Hunger Crisis
The Prem Rawat Foundation – Help for East Africa
Your support now is most important as it will help provide nourishment for the most vulnerable and help hundreds and even thousands of people reach safer ground on their pilgrimage away from the famine.
