Today it served a wonderful purpose in enabling Maharaji to deliver his unique message
Two speakers spoke before him: Mr Pitella the Italian incumbent Vice President of the European parliament and Mr Borodin, a representative from Russia and Belarus. The audience were congregated in an amphitheatre chamber – similar in style to the UN meeting halls – each seat replete with desk and headsets for translation and even with served coffee. However the venue facilities failed to include working microphones so each of the speakers had to hold his own wireless mike. This seemed to provide a layer of informality that enabled Maharaji to deliver his speech powerfully and passionately, as he stood between his fellow speakers.
Some memories:
- It is all very well to talk about peace, but so much better if you can feel it;
- each one of us needs to feel peace in order for the world to be in peace;
- from what information we have, there is only us in the known universe; we have to get along and respect and value our differences; I know we have different languages; I can speak two languages and I know that the words used convey exactly the same meaning;
- my wife and I were recently blessed with a grandson – he’s only 5 months old – but he loves to communicate – and he smiles a lot - I didn’t teach him that, neither his mum nor dad – where did this come from? - there is so much depth to our lives that we barely understand
- prosperity without peace just creates chaos
- we all need the determination and clarity to make peace happen – we can’t just wait for one person – it is up to each one of us
- I hope that peace comes to each one of us.
