Dear Friends of TPRF,
TPRF is making a substantial difference for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
Here is a progress report from Josette Sheeran, the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), which is one of our partners in the field and the recipient of our first $50,000 contribution:
January 25, 2010 — "Words cannot describe the devastation that has been wrought on Haiti by the January 12 earthquake. Parts of the capital Port-au-Prince look worse than many war zones. After two days in the city, I have seen the depth of grief and the massive needs the quake has left in its wake…
"WFP is pushing food supplies to the worst affected through five corridors. Our initial response – which was launched within 24 hours of the quake – has focused on targeting the most vulnerable, especially women and children. Our capacity to ramp up the operation is growing on a daily basis. On Friday, we delivered about two million meals - a significant increase from the 1.2 million meals distributed on Thursday. We are getting the job done, even if we wish we could do more, quicker…
"… None of us can count the human cost of this disaster, but generous action can help alleviate the suffering… We thank those that have stepped forward so generously already — the people of Haiti need your continued support now more than ever."
WFP workers, many of whom lost loved ones in the disaster themselves, are laboring night and day to save lives. In addition to distributing millions of ready-to-eat rations, they are setting up mobile field kitchens to provide hot meals to tens of thousands of survivors. Their successes are especially noteworthy considering the near-total collapse of the Haitian infrastructure—roads, communications, and electricity were all non-functional after the quake.
TPRF will be making another large donation very soon. We’ll keep you posted.
Thank you for your ongoing support,

Knowledge of the Self (Information)
This is a volunteer and independent group site dedicated to all those who thirst for Peace and may want to discover the possibility of it. Prem Rawat speaks about inner peace. Since his early childhood, he has been informing human beings about the possibility of fulfillment in this lifetime. His message is not tied to race, religion or culture. He simply reminds people of their own innate thirst, and their own inner oasis that can quench that thirst. Besides mere words and concepts, Prem... (ver más)
